On February 8th, the Education Coalition made up of the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA), the California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO), the California County Superintendents Educational Service Association (CCSESA), the California Federation of Teachers (CFT-AFL-CIO), the California School Boards Association (CSBA), the California School Employees Association (CSEA), the California State PTA, the California Teachers Association (CTA) and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) – wrote a letter to Assembly Member Jared Huffman expressing “very strong opposition to the Governor’s cynical proposal to cut K-12 education funding.”  This latest budget proposed by the Governor is simply another blow to K-12 education spending.  We find ourselves, after cutting over $1,000,000 from our own district budget, having to once think about how we will provide the best possible education to our students given these unprecedented fiscal challenges.  As a district, it is our responsibility to keep you updated with the latest information.  Our next Board Meeting is March 9th (Tuesday at 6:30 in the community meeting room – across from Arnold Field) and we welcome your input.
